Indo-Pacific Responses to Ukraine

Date & Time

Thursday
Mar. 31, 2022
4:00pm – 5:00pm ET

Overview

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the international community has adopted a wide variety of responses to the crisis, ranging from sanctions to support of Moscow’s position. In the Indo-Pacific, U.S. allies and partners have adopted a similarly diverse set of policy reactions to the war. Some, such as India, have hedged in order to maintain ties with Russia, while others, such as Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, have joined the U.S.-led effort to condemn Russian aggression.

How and why have U.S. allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific responded the way that they have to the Russian invasion of Ukraine? What are the implications for their relations with the United States?

Join the Asia Program’s experts on March 31 as they explore these questions and more.

This video event will posted on this webpage above upon public release.
