AI and Creativity: Challenges, Potential, and Opportunities
Overview
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) stands at the forefront of innovation, revolutionizing industries and reshaping our daily lives. Its relevance extends far beyond automation and data analysis, penetrating the essence of human creativity.
On August 15, the Brazil Institute cohosted the event with YouTube during the Rio Innovation Week to address a topic usually overlooked in the policy debate: its impact on human creativity. While some see AI as a threat, others highlight its potential. However, the real question isn't whether AI is creative but how we can harness it as a powerful tool to elevate our own creativity. This event discussed the true challenge, which lies in our "agency"—our ability to shape technology rather than letting it shape us.

We achieve this by producing independent research and programs that bridge the gap between scholarship and policy, while serving as a hub for policymakers, scholars, and private sector leaders.
